An uncertain and aging labor market, coupled with a rapidly changing global marketplace, has created a strategic imperative for organizations to proactively plan for expected and unexpected shifts in business demand and talent supply. This workshop will provide a working model and hands-on practice for participants to build strategic capability in enterprise-wide workforce planning. The SWPI course establishes a business and theoretical foundation for workforce planning, introduces the TMA Strategic Workforce Planning Strategy and Implementation Model, and gives participants the practice, tools, templates and techniques to meet business goals, develop leaders for the future, increase market share, and improve employee engagement.
The SWPI course learning objectives include:
- Identify the major needs and talent factors that underpin strategic workforce planning
- Differentiate between headcount planning, operational, and strategic workforce planning
- Create a common language and working definition of strategic workforce planning
- Discuss methods and approaches for integrating Business Strategy and Workforce Planning Strategy
- Learn and apply the TMA Strategic Workforce Planning Strategy and Implementation Model
- Apply the TMA Strategic Workforce Planning Strategy and Implementation Model via a business case study
- Create an integrated Strategic Workforce and Implentaion Plan that outlines the strategies and actions necessary for the organization to meet its business objectives and/or mission
