Senior Vice President Human Resources, Saint Luke’s Health System
Dawn Murphy is currently Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Saint Luke’s Health System. Previously, she functioned as vice president of human resources at Saint Luke’s Hospital. She was also a charter member of the
Saint Luke’s Health System Diversity Council. Dawn has been in health care human resources for more than 30 years in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. She has been with Saint Luke’s Health System since 1992, when she joined as the employee relations manager at Saint Luke’s Hospital.
Before joining Saint Luke’s, Dawn was employed with the American Nurses Association as the employee relations officer. She received her bachelor’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from Kansas State University.
Dawn completed two years of graduate coursework in industrial/organizational psychology at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky. She earned a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Kansas in May of 2002, where she received the Bret Hammig Award for outstanding leadership and academic achievement.
Under her leadership, the Human Resources Department at Saint Luke’s Hospital was a three-time winner of the Paragon Award for Excellence in Human Resources Practices and Programs.
Dawn served on the board of overseers for the Missouri Quality Award for six years. She is on the MHA Workforce Development Committee. She serves on the Bloch School HR advisory board at University of Missouri-Kansas City, the board of directors of the Mid America Coalition on Health Care, the board of directors for the AIDS Service Foundation, and has served on the board of directors for the Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge – a traveling symposium for executive women leaders in Missouri.
Dawn was also recognized as an Alumni Ambassador for the University of Kansas MHSA Program.
