In 2015 there was unprecedented market consolidation nationwide; in 2018 we can assume this will only accelerate in response to external competitive pressures and potential changes to the ACA.
Lahey Health is a leading healthcare system in northeastern Massachusetts, leveraging a physician led, community based care model to provide a wide range of services across its region north and west of downtown Boston. Lahey Health was formed very rapidly over a 36 month period, and is comprised of a large clinical practice with 600 plus physicians, a small academic medical center, two community hospitals, a large behavioral health organization, community based physician practices, and post-acute care services under a common management and board structure.
This presentation deals with the reality of mergers in Healthcare and will cover the effects of decisions made regarding organizational structure (to include Board, executive, business unit and corporate services structures) and the observed impacts of these changes on management and staff engagement, along with a specific discussion about the development of a new system-wide HR structure to support the new enterprise.
