In the rapidly changing healthcare industry, shortages of healthcare professionals are becoming more pronounced, exacerbating nurse scheduling and staffing problems that can affect patient care and staff morale. An important solution may be greater optimization of clinical staff through technology-enhanced tools that utilize predictive analytics with advanced labor management strategies to forecast patient demand and align scheduling and staffing with future demand. This survey examines the state of nurse scheduling and staffing problems and the awareness of predictive analytics tools.
