From Practitioner to Administrator – Preparing Talent to Operate with a Profit Center Mindset
Tom Tonkin, Principal Thought Leadership & Advisory Services, Cornerstone OnDemand
Healthcare organizations are faced with changing times that suggest they must operate more so as a profit center than ever before. The war for talent is at its highest. At face value, this might seem to be a fairly standard approach to business, however, this is not a standard mindset of many in this industry. What we have to realize is that many of us healthcare administrators and leaders come from the ranks of healthcare practitioners. We did not get into this ‘business' to run P&L and deal with staffing issue, but that is exactly what we need to do now. The issue is more about having a capitalistic mindset to seize the opportunities (or challenges) in being a viable healthcare option.
In this session, Tom Tonkin, Ph.D., Principal Consultant, Thought-Leadership and Advisory Services for Cornerstone on Demand, will discuss the talent management strategies and the benefits that will have a material impact as healthcare organization move to profit center mind-set. Dr. Tonkin will address some specific steps that you can take to ‘future proof' your organization including revisiting the use of talent management within your organization.
