The Truman Show: Leveraging Your Core Values to Drive the Three C’s
Brad C. Wilkins, VP of Human Resources, Altisource.
Do you recall the movie ‘The Truman Show’, where perfectly crafting an environment for success allowed the lead character to live an idealized life? As the incongruence of that universe came to fore, it began to disrupt his entire sense of being. That world is much like your company. It is critical that you create and maintain that world through subtle nuance, congruency, and communication. This is accomplished by building a set of core values that you can hire against, fire against, promote against, and performance review against. You’re probably saying – core values? Is it 1998 all over again? However, when was the last time you reviewed the connective tissue of those core values to the three Cs – Compensation, Career, and Contentment? Because you need an integrated engagement platform that drives those components while remaining consistent across the organization. Otherwise your world – your company – may slowly fall apart.
