Vice President, People and Culture, Joey Restaurant Group
After 20 years in the field of Human Resources, I am more excited about what I do than ever before. I am paid to pursue my passion of unleashing the potential of others. What could be more gratifying!
I have had the good fortune to work with great people and great organizations over the years. Working in government, not-for-profits, publicly traded and privately owned companies, has provided me with a breadth and depth of knowledge that I leverage daily along with a network of friends that I connect with regularly. Working with the likes of Yves Potvin, Irwin Simon, John Nightingale, and Jeff Fuller, has provided me with an incredible viewpoint on different approaches to leadership. It has reaffirmed that leadership comes in many forms and that each leader needs to find their own natural/ authentic style.
My unwillingness to leave things status quo is my greatest strength and my kryptonite. At work it keeps me innovating about how to address issues differently, more effectively or efficiently. I never get stagnant nor bored. At home, it results in a non-stop stream of home improvement projects which are eating into my kids’ education fund.
I am passionate about creating work environments where people are inspired to grow, learn and achieve their full potential. The world of HR enables me to achieve this by; helping people find their passion, removing barriers to achievement, providing the tools for success, and most importantly – holding them capable.
