In 2019, Stanford University is opening its first significant expansion outside of the historic campus, affectionately known as “The Farm.” Some 2,700 employees will be relocated to Stanford Redwood City, located only 5 miles away from Stanford’s historic campus. This new campus represents a major transition for the university and necessitates a cultural shift in the way faculty and staff work together.
In this presentation, Melissa McVicker, Associate Vice President of Human Resources Communications at Stanford University, will share the University’s strategy and tactics for change management communications on this bold employee transition. She will share communications objectives, highlight areas of tension, and reveal best known methods for communicating to the diverse employees of Stanford.
