Underrepresentation, pay inequity, and limited support creates challenges for women’s advancement within their organizations and academic institutions. Companies across sectors may struggle to identify effective initiatives to address these challenges and increase women representation in leadership positions. Mount Sinai Health System launched the Women’s Advocacy Group to provide women with additional opportunities for mentorship, professional development and collaboration. This session will explore methods for bringing together women leadership to help identify, engage and drive women's initiatives within the organization.
Objectives
1. Identify key areas for improvement in the support of women’s advancement and challenges specific to the organization
2. Develop strategies for engaging organizational leadership and identifying stakeholders
3. Identify opportunities to address talent acquisition and development issues
4. Learn to create an effective short and long-term strategic plan for the expansion of women employee professional development opportunities
