The mission of an organization defines its purpose and direction for internal and external stakeholders. Linking DEI practices directly to an organizational mission not only reinforces the message internally but provides a clear message to external stakeholders that DEI is not just “a program” but part of the fiber of the organization. We are a national non-profit dedicated to giving all kids – especially those living in poverty – the childhood they deserve through great, safe places to play. This session will focus on how we have aligned our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practices and programs directly with our mission. We will share examples of how our daily work incorporates DEI practices whether it is the CEO speaking to a key funder or a staff member wanting to understand how to be more impactful in the communities we serve.
